Job Title: Financial Analyst 
Location: Dubai Headquarters (with potential travel within Sub-Saharan Africa) 
Company Overview
We are a rapidly growing fintech (lending & payments) business, operating across multiple countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our goal is to enhance financial inclusion by offering responsible, innovative lending products to the underserved. We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in driving informed, strategic decision-making throughout the organization.
Position Summary
The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in assisting the CFO and the broader finance team with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, solid knowledge of financial principles, and the ability to manage data from multiple sources. The Financial Analyst will also collaborate with various stakeholders across the holding company and its subsidiaries, helping to ensure financial efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment in diverse market contexts.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Modeling & Analysis
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support lending operations, new product launches, and investment decisions.
  • Analyze historical performance and market trends to forecast revenue, cost, and profitability across different markets.
  • Prepare scenario analyses and sensitivity models to inform strategic planning.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process, working closely with country finance teams and department heads. 
  • Monitor budget performance, highlighting variances and providing actionable insights to improve financial outcomes. 
  • Support quarterly and monthly forecasting efforts, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting.
Financial Reporting & Dashboards
  • Collaborate with the CFO and finance managers to prepare regular financial reports and dashboards for executive leadership and Board presentations. 
  • Consolidate financial data from operating subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and track them to measure success across the group.
Data Management & Insights
  • Gather and analyze financial and operational data from multiple sources, including LMS (loan management) and ERP systems, bank statements, and internal business units. 
  • Translate complex data sets into clear, concise insights to guide decision-making. 
  • Recommend improvements to data collection, analysis processes, and financial systems.
Risk Management & Compliance Support
  • Assist in assessing financial risks related to currency fluctuations, credit performance, and market conditions. 
  • Support compliance activities, ensuring adherence to international accounting standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements. 
  • Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to maintain robust internal controls and governance processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Product) to provide financial input into strategic initiatives and business cases. 
  • Support the CFO in investor relations activities, including data analysis for fundraising, due diligence, and shareholder reporting. 
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certification:
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA, CPA is a plus). 
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a financial services, consumer lending, or consulting environment. 
  • Experience with emerging markets or Sub-Saharan Africa lending operations is advantageous.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and Excel-based analytics. 
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). 
  • Understanding of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
Soft Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex information clearly. 
  • Adaptable and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Team player with a collaborative approach, eager to learn and contribute to diverse projects.
