We are looking for a proactive and agile Finance Operations Manager to manage a number of work streams in our finance department. Primarily this role will be responsible for ensuring smooth running of our cash management and payment processing. In addition the candidate will need to have a grasp of financial accounting in order to manage the processing and reconciliations of our financial records.
The successful candidate will be hands-on and comfortable balancing multiple strategic priorities throughout a number of different business units at various stages of maturity. The candidate must therefore be able to operate at a BAU level and manage ad hoc projects as we continue to build our finance function. As the business expands, there is similarly significant room for growth in the role.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, and as part of a highly successful and rapidly growing business, you will work closely and in a position of trust with senior team members to support the needs of the business. The ideal candidate will thrive in a startup environment, have a practical understanding of cryptocurrency transactions, and a commitment to establishing scalable and efficient processes.
What you will do
Cash & Treasury Float Management
Oversee cash flow management to ensure adequate liquidity across business units - including for fiat banking and crypto float wallets.
Lead payment processing workflows, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
Collaborate with banking partners and internal stakeholders to optimize payment cycles and manage cash positions.
Payment Processing
Execute weekly payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all transactions - utilizing both crypto and fiat payment methods.
Manage vendor payment schedules, maintaining strong relationships and addressing any payment-related inquiries.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements in all payment processes.
Financial Accounting & Reporting:
Aid in the processing of financial transactions to produce timely management accounts.
Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of our accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Coordinate with outsourced accounting teams to handle transaction processing and general ledger reconciliations.
Business-as-Usual (BAU) Operations & Strategic Prioritization:
Manage the BAU operations effectively, ensuring high levels of accuracy and adherence to operating models per business unit.
Balance multiple priorities, aligning finance operations with the strategic goals of multiple business units.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline financial processes and support scalability.
Ad Hoc Projects & Finance Function Development:
Take a hands-on approach to tackle a range of ad hoc tasks as needed.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the finance function, identifying areas for process improvement and increased efficiency.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support organizational growth and operational effectiveness.
Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years in finance operations or similar roles with a strong understanding of cash management and payment processing.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) either fully or part-qualified is preferred but is not a prerequisite.
Proven experience in payment processing, vendor management, and process improvement.
Practical knowledge of crypto currency transactions and the market in general.
Excellent organizational skills, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
