Supporting the Chief Financial Officer in providing financial management information and advise to senior management on financing and accounting aspects
Effectively monitoring, interpreting and challenging financial results and communicating issues, risks, opportunities and trends, and performance outlook to the management team on a timely basis
Advising the Chief Financial Officer in directing the operations of reporting areas - budgeting, planning, accounting; investment management and mergers and acquisitions; revenue management and budgeting and treasury activities, and monitoring performance on a regular basis
Developing and communicating budgetary guidance, financial management policies/procedures, and advising the Chief Financial Officer on the requirements and implementation of the laws and regulations
Advising the Chief Financial Officer on approved accounting practices to ensure that financial statements and reports accurately reflect the status of the relevant accounts and provide reliable information to control operations
Monitoring adherence to the financial standards and procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement and resolve any discrepancies
Participating in policy changes and decision making regarding resource allocation and future direction and control of finance initiatives
Reviewing the account statements produced within the department/section regularly and suggesting reform initiatives to improve the efficiency of accounting and financial control
Coordinating with internal audit and external audit agencies and providing timely support for all disclosures and compliance required
