Finance BI Manager

What you'll be doing



Oversee the design, collection, analysis, and reporting of financial data to support informed decision-making. This role leverages advanced BI tools to extract insights, create financial models, and support strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing financial performance.

Data Management & Analysis:



Lead the design and implementation of financial reporting systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all financial data sources.
Develop and maintain BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations for executive leadership, providing clear insights into key financial metrics utilising Looker.
Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction, profitability improvements, and operational efficiencies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Accounting, Operations) to ensure alignment and consistency in financial data.

Strategic Decision Support:



Provide actionable insights to finance and business leaders to inform budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial presentations that explain complex data in an accessible, impactful manner.
Support ad-hoc analyses for special projects, including merger and acquisition evaluations, capital investments, and performance analysis.

Business Intelligence Tools & Reporting:



Lead the use and maintenance of BI platforms and tools (e.g., Looker) for finance-specific applications.
Automate and streamline reporting processes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of key financial reports.
Implement best practices in data visualization to deliver financial performance insights that drive business decisions.

Team Leadership & Development:



Manage and mentor finance analysts, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure high levels of performance and growth.
Foster a collaborative environment with key stakeholders to ensure the BI team's solutions meet the evolving needs of the business.

What you’ll need to succeed



Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Science, or a related field (required). A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.

Experience:



Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business intelligence, or data analytics. Experience in Finance is a plus.
Proven experience with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, SAP, or similar platforms. Looker experience is preferred.
Strong understanding of financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
Prior experience leading a team or working cross-functionally within an organization is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:



Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial modelling tools.
Experience with GBQ is a plus.

Key Competencies:



Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
