We are currently seeking a Finance Analyst role for one of our very well-known government client, to be based in their Dubai office.
Job Purpose:
The job holder plays a key role in preparation and analysis of company’s financial accounting and reporting requirements and maintains books of accounts on Oracle Financials with very minimum supervision. In addition, he provides necessary support to Finance Manager and other departments in maintaining unified controls, governance, accounting standards relevant to all business issues/concerns.
Responsibilities:
Financial & Management Accounting
- Maintain books of accounts and to ensure that the monthly accounts are closed and submitted on a timely basis.
- Keeps continuous track on various key expenditure accounts for descriptive details and analysis.
- Produces ad-hoc reports as required by the Management or Departments on the various items of revenue/expenditure/capex etc.
- Co-ordinates with Group Financial Services (GFS) on specific transactions of the company.
- Maintain books of accounts for joint ventures and associates and to ensure that the monthly accounts are closed and submitted on a timely basis.
- Preparation of GL schedules on periodical basis.
- Reviews the month end closing reports of the company and prepares the monthly management reports for reporting to ENOC Corporate for controller review.
- Analyses the financials and operations of the company and presents the data and concern areas, in graphics and tabulated form.
- Reviews the clarifications, if any, received from Group departments, and makes adjustments/rectifications, for controller review.
Audit
- Dealing with the various Auditors such as the external, internal and Govt. auditors to resolve the queries raised by such auditors on various financial aspects of the company.
Compliance and control
- Highlight instances of non-conformities to control framework and potential control issues on day-to-day transactions for resolution.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with financial covenants and service level agreements and ensuring that any contractual obligations arising thereon are met.
- Responsible for budget monitoring against actual by endorsing all PR's and highlight overruns.
Treasury Management
- Ensures development of routine operations and cash flow for the internal projects / company
- Manages short term cash flows / fund requirements including overseeing bank accounts and loans to ensure ready availability of adequate funds without maintaining idle funds.
Strategy Planning and Budgeting
- Assist in coordinating the Strategy Management Process.
- Assist in coordinating the business planning and budgeting process.
- Assist in developing the strategic objectives which are required to be incorporated in budgets and plans.
- Assist in identifying assumptions specific to the business units.
- Participates in discussions with business units on their budgets/plans and incorporate their feedback in the respective budgets.
- Assist in preparing communication material, data requests, etc. from various government departments.
VAT responsibilities
- VAT Returns : Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and timely in accordance with local regulations.
- VAT Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of VAT accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- VAT Compliance: Ensure compliance with all VAT regulations, including correct application of VAT rates and exemptions.
- VAT Audits: Assist with VAT audits and liaise with tax authorities as necessary.
- VAT Reporting: Generate and analyze VAT reports to identify potential risks and opportunities for savings.
Corporate Tax Responsibilities
- Tax Returns: Prepare and file corporate tax returns in a timely manner.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all corporate tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Tax Audits: Support tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities.
- Tax Forecasting: Prepare tax forecasts and budgets to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Tax Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax documentation and records.
