Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking meats in several different styles such as roasted, smoked, grilled, or braised
- Instructing and overseeing junior chefs in their duties and taking over the responsibilities of the senior chef when necessary
- Estimating food quantities, managing food inventory, and ordering
- Ensuring the highest food quality standards are met by inspecting all meat products before cooking
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and developments
- Communicating with the restaurant managers and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth food operations
- Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while following health and safety regulations
