Job DescriptionJOB PURPOSE & KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:FAB’s Global Markets division is a complex, multidisciplinary business which requires constant innovation to remain competitive. The Trading & Investments team, which sits within Global Markets, is a high performing business and offers an extensive range of tailor made and strategic solutions, products and services to meet the needs of customers worldwide. The Non-Linear Trading team is at the forefront of innovation, focused on creating bespoke investment solutions for institutional and retail clients. We develop, market, and manage the pricing of Structured Product portfolios on behalf of FAB. The team’s unique structure requires continuous interaction across multiple internal functions, including Quant, Sales, Structuring, Compliance, Wealth Management, Trading, Risk and Business Management teams. This position will be based in the UAE, sitting within the Non-Linear Trading Team.Key Responsibilities Client-Centric Solutions Development: Collaborate with Sales and Structuring teams to synthesize and enhance our existing capabilities, crafting tailored solutions that meet complex client needs. End-to-End Transaction Lifecycle Management: Oversee every phase of the trade lifecycle, including idea generation, rigorous back-testing, sophisticated modelling, and precise pricing to drive our client business forward. Quantitative Collaboration: Leverage a robust technical foundation to engage effectively with Quant teams, contributing to the development and refinement of advanced pricing models. Independent Tool Development: Apply advanced programming skills to independently design and implement tools for risk management and decision-making, fortifying our trading infrastructure. Expert Trading Execution: Manage a complex exotic trading book with an adept understanding of market dynamics, drawing on extensive experience in making informed and high stakes trading decisions.Risk Management and Performance Accountability Proven Track Record in Risk Management and Profit Generation: The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid history of managing and optimizing risk within an exotic derivatives book, with an emphasis on consistent, positive P&L performance. This includes a well-documented track record of identifying and exploiting market inefficiencies, managing adverse risk factors, and balancing risk-taking with disciplined capital allocation. The ideal candidate has established a reputation for maintaining profitability through various market cycles while upholding the bank’s risk tolerance and regulatory requirements Strategic Risk Assessment and Mitigation: This role requires a strategic approach to risk-taking, with the ability to assess, measure, and mitigate potential risk exposures using sophisticated risk metrics and analytics. Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks that align with both regulatory standards and internal controls is essential. The candidate will actively contribute to the ongoing assessment and adjustment of the risk-return profile of the trading book, ensuring that all risk-taking aligns with the bank’s financial goals and broader risk policies Continuous Performance Analysis: The candidate will be responsible for rigorous daily and periodic analysis of P&L and risk attributions to monitor the effectiveness of trading strategies and decision-making. This involves a thorough understanding of various risk factors impacting the exotic derivatives space and the application of advanced quantitative and statistical methods to manage volatility, liquidity, and counterparty risk efficientlySupport distribution avenues to enhance the flow business: Produce market commentaries and trade recommendations where required Provide pricing to facilitate customer business and work with Sales colleagues in developing the client franchise Accompany sales on customer visits, be available for customer calls Work closely with Risk teams in adapting and expanding the relevant mandate according to opportunities and the risk appetite of FAB Interact internal colleagues to help develop synergies and spread knowledges Participate in improving reliability and efficiency of reporting Lead and mentor junior staffAdditional accountabilities: Responsible for adhering to assigned risk and stop loss limits Responsible for meeting financial and business objectives set by the Head Ensure compliance with all appropriate limits including counterparty limits Identify and analyse new product and regional opportunities Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies Ensure swift and consistent pricing to all internal and external customers Expand counterparty awareness of our capabilities to attract new flows and limits Ensure learning framework in place for team members to develop with appropriate teaching schedule and courses Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with counterparties, brokers and other market participantsQualificationsMinimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or related discipline.Additional InformationMinimum Experience & Attributes: Minimum of 8 years relevant markets experience in similar positions Domain Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Equity Derivatives, implied funding across multiple venues and Equity-Linked Structured Products, particularly in global single stock and index derivatives. Quantitative Proficiency: A strong academic background in quantitative fields (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics) is essential. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and other relevant programming languages is necessary for developing proprietary tools and enhancing risk management systems. Cross-Functional Versatility: Demonstrated ability to navigate and contribute across multiple disciplines, including product development, pricing, transaction execution, marketing, and legal documentation. Deep understanding of Python and ability to develop models & trading risk tools.
