Apt Resources is proud to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented Agriculture Manager/Engineer to join the team at a prestigious Farm. This role involves overseeing all farm areas, such as crop management, equipment upkeep, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for horticulture, excellent leadership abilities, and the capacity to make well-informed decisions
Responsibilities
- Manage crop production, focusing on fruits, in greenhouse, net-house, and open field environments.
- Plan and execute crop scheduling.
- Oversee land preparation, planting, growing, and harvesting.
- Supervise the processing and packaging of produce.
- Coordinate the delivery of all farm produce.
- Budget and cost of all production-related activities.
- Manage fertigation, including hydroponics, and monitor crop performance in protected and open-field environments for efficient production.
- Implement pest control measures using Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
- Manage irrigation systems.
- Ensure product quality control and oversee post-harvest management.
- Conduct field scouting, crop rotation, and cover cropping.
- Supervise daily time management and labor requirements.
- Develop and execute farm operations to ensure efficient and profitable crop production.
- Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Prepare and oversee budgets for farm operations, including labor, equipment, and supply costs.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and repair, keeping machinery in good working condition.
- Oversee the procurement of supplies, such as plant materials, fertilizers, and pesticides, while managing inventory levels.
- Monitor market conditions and provide recommendations for crop rotation and operational decisions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure effective marketing and sales of crops.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, environmental regulations, and labor laws.
- Maintain accurate records of farm operations, including crop yields, expenses, and revenues.
- Collaborate with other farm managers for knowledge-sharing and development.
- Focus on fruit tree crops like papaya, banana, mango, and citrus grown in various environments (greenhouse, net-house, open field).
- Stay informed about best practices and emerging agricultural technologies, such as new crop varieties, horticultural practices, and fertigation, and provide regular updates on them.
