Overview
The Estimator / Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of interior fit-out and landscaping projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and analyzing project specifications to determine the necessary quantities of materials, labor, and equipment. The QS will work closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions and accurate project budgets. They will oversee tender documentation, perform cost control throughout the project lifecycle, and ensure compliance with financial targets, quality standards, and timelines. Strong negotiation and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Cost Analysis and Estimation: Ability to assess all aspects of project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and other associated expenses.
Attention to Detail: Precision in identifying and evaluating cost factors, materials specifications, labor requirements, and other critical details.
Quantitative Skills: Proficiency in analyzing numerical data and interpreting metrics to make accurate predictions.
Technical Understanding: Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and terminology if working in construction, or specific knowledge of manufacturing processes for manufacturing estimators.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of relevant building codes, safety standards, or other regulatory requirements, especially in the construction and engineering fields.
Material Costs and Labor Market Insight: Up-to-date knowledge of market prices for materials and labor in the specific industry and region.
Clear Communication: Ability to communicate complex cost analyses and project estimates clearly to stakeholders, including non-technical team members.
Collaboration: Works well with project managers, architects, engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to gather information and refine estimates.
Negotiation Skills: Capable of negotiating prices with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve the best cost for the company
