Job Description

An Estimation Engineer plays a crucial role in the maritime and marine engineering sector, particularly in construction and building projects. This position involves analyzing project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring that projects are financially viable. The Estimation Engineer collaborates closely with project managers, architects, and clients to deliver accurate and timely estimates that align with project goals. Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  2. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
  3. Conduct market research to determine current pricing trends for materials and labor.
  4. Prepare detailed reports and presentations outlining the estimated costs and justifications.
  5. Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  6. Monitor project budgets and expenditures, providing updates and recommendations as necessary.
  7. Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines based on cost estimates.
  8. Participate in project meetings to discuss estimates and address any concerns from stakeholders.
  9. Continuously update and maintain estimation databases to reflect the latest pricing and project data.
  10. Provide support during the tendering process, including clarifying estimates and addressing queries from clients.
