Job Description


  • Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Understand the scope of work and project requirements.
  • Calculate material costs, labor costs, and manufacturing expenses.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets.
  • Analyze historical data to determine cost trends and pricing strategies.
  • Source materials and negotiate with suppliers and vendors.
  • Obtain quotations and compare prices to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Determine the best methods for metal fabrication to meet project specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of cost estimates and project specifications.
  • Generate reports and documentation for project proposals and submissions.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and advice during the project planning and execution phases.
  • Ensure that all estimates comply with industry standards and quality requirements.
  • Monitor and review the accuracy of cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.


Skills


  • Ability to analyze project specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with project teams and clients.
  • Ability to identify and resolve cost discrepancies and project challenges.
  • At least 2 years of experience in metal fabrication, cost estimation, or a related field.
  • Experience with steel structures, steel fabrication, and knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software to process customer drawing files for quoting.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel for cost calculations and data analysis.
  • Understanding of material properties, fabrication techniques, and industry standards.
  • Ensuring accuracy in cost estimates and documentation.
  • Efficiently managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Working closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
