Job Summary:
Trane in Abu Dhabi is hiring for Equipment Quotation Engineer - Airside.In this role, you will be responsible for the equipment portion of various projects including validating the equipment selection, pricing, discounts, and submittal processes of the equipment portion of projects as required, and accountable for the strategy and performance achievement of the specific budget objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize and validate HVAC equipment specifications, including size, configuration, voltage, and additional options, by reviewing project plans, specifications, original estimates, and proposals to ensure alignment with client requirements, industry standards, and regulations.
- Analyze project requirements to develop optimized equipment selections and accurate technical proposals, collaborating closely with the product team for pre-sales support and the sales team.
- Recommend cost-saving measures and value engineering alternatives for Air Handling Units (AHUs) and associated systems.
- Evaluate potential cost savings or challenges that may arise in various projects and provide solutions accordingly.
- Validate project scope by reviewing transition documents, plans, and specifications, identifying potential cost savings and challenges, and confirming equipment and value package (EQ/VPP) configurations and quantities.
- Provide support to the sales team by developing preliminary and final submittals as needed, conducting job cost consensus meetings, and releasing submittals, including implementing any required changes.
- Maintain a competitive edge by staying current on industry trends and optimizing expenses through vendor price negotiations for materials and services.
- Prepare equipment for order entry, ensuring accurate pricing and coordination worksheet revisions, and reconcile job costs accordingly.
- Validate external equipment and service purchase prices to ensure cost accuracy and project profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of airside equipment, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), and control systems.
- 3-5 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with a focus on supporting technical sales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems.
