Overview of the role
The purpose is to ensure data and information architecture is strategically managed, implemented and enforced in the organisation in direct support of the organisation’s future strategy and business model, so that data is converted to meaningful information that will enable and steer the business into effective decision-making capability
What you will do
- Provide input to the architectural strategy and road map for the Data and Information Domain.
- Providing content regarding Data and Information frameworks as well as design processes for implementation
- Provide subject matter expertise (Data and Information Management) input to ensure strategic direction
- Monitor technology capability, trends and requirements, such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities
- Keep up to date with the data elements that are available within the company
- Provides advice on supplier and cost options, ensures that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any RFI/RFPs process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof of concept solutions.
- Contributes to broader architectural governance activities by participating in peer reviews for other solutions.
- Provide leadership in the comprehensive planning, development and execution for Group solutions.
- Provide business with valid, well considered insights with regards their Data and Information Management construct.
- Play a subject matter expert from a data perspective and provide input into all decisions relating to systems data.
- Ensure knowledge is shared amongst peers through various mentoring initiatives
- Design of the data information management lifecycle relevant for the group
- Enforce the data information lifecycle; identify challenges and bottlenecks and review and amend on a continuous basis.
- Provide guidance in terms of setting governance standards with regards to Data and Analytics Management
- Ensure that governance is adhered to in the context of Data and Analytics environment

What equips you for the role
- A Degree in Computer Science/IT/similar.
- 10+ years of work experience on Data and Information Architecture ideally with experience in Automotive or Retail
- TOGAF certified in Enterprise Architecture
- Good knowledge of Databricks and PowerBI
- Good knowledge of the Azure cloud, certification will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of SAP Datasphere and SAC will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Purvue and Ovaledge data governance tools will be an advantage.
- Industry legislative and regulatory knowledge with a keen understanding of impact and implications to organizational enterprise framework and how they are to be addressed.
- Proven track record of comprehensive analysis and architectural skills to drive delivery of architectural constructs and artefacts in line with business strategy.
