Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of water and wastewater treatment projects from tendering/proposal development through to detailed engineering design and support during site execution. The role involves managing a team of engineers coordinating with clients, consultants and vendors and ensuring project deliverables meet technical standards and timelines. This position demands strong technical expertise, leadership and project management skills with a solid foundation in process engineering and detailed engineering for water and wastewater treatment systems. Experience in EPC projects shall be considered as added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret project specifications/tender documents, drawings and requirements to prepare comprehensive Techno-commercial bids along with cost estimation for water and wastewater treatment projects includes EPC projects in coordination with EPC Proposal Team.
- Develop preliminary process designs, perform basic calculations at the tendering stage.
- Collaborate with the sales and business development team to understand client needs and align proposal strategy and present technical proposals to clients addressing queries and modifications as needed.
- Lead the development of process design, including PFD P&ID, run projections, mass and energy balance and equipment sizing for water and wastewater treatment systems [e.g., desalination, BWRO, ultrafiltration, STP, ETP, Dialysis RO, etc).
- Ensure detailed engineering documents such as drawings, specifications, and material submittals, meet client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, civil, and instrumentation engineers to ensure cohesive and integrated project designs.
- Oversee the project execution phase ensuring projects are implemented according to the design, schedule and quality standards.
- Support site teams by resolving technical queries, troubleshooting process-related issues and ensuring design modifications are effectively communicated.
- Perform site visits for project assessments, installation verifications, and quality inspections.
- Liaise with subcontractors, vendors and other third parties to ensure timely and accurate completion of project deliverables.
- Provide on-site technical guidance for process start-up, commissioning and performance testing.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols for all engineering activities.
- Develop documentation such as operation & maintenance manuals and process control documentation.
- Serve as the main point of contact for technical inquiries from clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineer or relevant. Relevant experience in Water & Wastewater Technology sector.
- Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience with the majority spent working in refining, petrochemicals or oil & gas industries.
- Relevant software knowledge for Engineering SOW for Water & Wasterwater
Additional Information
- Must have a solid understanding of water treatment technologies and water chemistry as pertained to industrial wastewater and process water treatment.
- Experience in suspended and dissolved solid removal (softening, filtration, ion exchange, reverse osmosis and evaporation) and disinfection (chlorination and ozonation).
Skills
- Must have client facing skills.
- Strong written and oral communication (English) skills.
- Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals.
- Must be able to prioritize workload to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
- Must be able to coordinate with team members in other offices.
