Job Description


Job Summary 


Works in the Maintenance Department under the supervision of the Head of Mechanical Maintenance· The Job Holder works closely with the Mechanical Supervisors/Technicians to ensure the Plant Routines are carried out efficiently and to high quality standards. Steam & Gas turbines, Desalination & MED plants maintenance experience.


Key Accountabilities


  • Guide the team of Mechanical engineers in the daily maintenance activities, preparation of Turn-Around maintenance program.


  • Plan, execute and monitor the Routine and Annual Maintenance Program for Mechanical Equipment as per the required scope, time & cost and quality.


  • Supervises the implementation of predictive, preventive, corrective, modification and major shutdown maintenance programs participates in the preparation of such programs.


  • Establishes mechanical maintenance scope of work, bill of quantity, material specifications, engineering standards and completion time schedule for maintenance contracts.


  • Diagnose the reasons of a mechanical breakdown to Identify and correct problems using root cause failure analysis to find and correct problems with technical investigation and issuance Technical failure report includes recommendations to maintenance crew.


  • Prepares plan, scope of work and contracts for Gas Turbines (4 nos 170 MW and 1 no. 35 MW), Combustion Inspection (CI), Hot Gas Path Inspection (HGPI) and Major Overhauling base on equivalent running hours.


  • Participates in preparing gas turbine maintenance scope of work and preparing action plan including spare part control to optimize maintenance cost.


  • Prepares plan, scope of work and contracts for Steam Turbines (2 nos 40 MW, Minor & Major overhauling, including spares and special tool preparations.


  • Reviews requirement of tools for maintenance on the room and prepares purchase order study specification to procure General & Special tools along with lifting tackles & mobile equipment and per international standards and maintain the tools in good conditions with valid test certificate as per HSE policy.


  • Follow up construction of Waste Heat Recovery Project (WHRP) & review SPIR and manuals.


  • Prepare risk assessments for the maintenance activities, conduct toolbox talks and ensure the strict adherence of safety regulations during the job.


  • Provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives


  • Coordinate training programs for Employees/EPEs, imparting on-the-job training and identifies gaps & needs for off-job training assignments.


Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineer
  • At least 5 years of experience in installation, maintenance, trouble shooting and operation of a wide range of of heavy rotating (Gas & Steam turbines..etc) and stationary equipment (Desalination, boilers , MED plans..etc), preferably in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry and/or power generation plants with at least five years’ experience in management function.
