About The Company
Job Purpose
Ensure full compliance of safe Lifting practices in Onshore/Offshore base operation and safe cargo movement to and from offshore locations. Supervise and coordinate on lifting safe operation with all concerned including offshore. Provide guidance and training on Lifting Management systems and for continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure and achieve containerization and pre slinging of cargoes reflecting international best practices. Closely monitor and supervise the activities of contracted personnel to ensure that their work is carried out correctly and to the required standards.
- Develop lifting plans for all routine & non-routine lifting operations. Develop work instruction for lifting activities and equipment’s to match best Industrial practice.
- Train, develop, motivate and organize subordinates in order to achieve objectives.
- Responsible for coordination and maintenance of records of periodic integrity inspections and certifications of Lifting and color-coding activities as per roles and responsibilities stated in the Lifting Management System. Also, to carry out daily Pre cargo inspection on all baskets, containers and lifting certificates to ensure physical conditions for safe cargo movement to offshore locations. (Slings, shackles, lifting eyes and structural integrity as per best industrial practices). Ensure that all corrective actions related to statutory inspections are carried out without any delay and coordinates with other trades for implementation of same.
- Assurance of regulatory compliance with UAE Ministerial Decree No. 32 – Article 20.
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Liaise with COMPANY offshore supervisors for any concern on the lifting equipment’s and lifting gears are in good condition for the intended purpose.
- Ensure the correct SWL of all lifting equipment’s are used for the weight and that the correct and accurate weight is entered onto the manifest.
- Ensures compliance and implementation of company HSEMS policies, standards and procedures..
- Review JSA’s for all lifting operation in the area of operation/activities.
- Carry out risk assessment and participate in the incident investigation for all lifting related incident in the area of operation /activities along with other concerned members.
- Provide day to day Technical Support for related lifting safe operation in logistic Division.
- Conduct regular lifting audits and risk assessment for Critical Lifting and ensure safe lifting practice during lifting.
- Guide the team of skilled technicians for guaranteed performance and safety standard.
- Train the personnel as required in safe lifting practices and assist in campaigns to improve overall safe lifting standard.
- Conduct offshore site visit to create more awareness of logistic objectives and safe lifting practices among end users
Minimum Requirement
- Engineering / or equivalent in Engineering from recognized University. Additional qualifications in LEEA-UK (Part I&II) with management of systems qualifications are preferred.
- At least 10 years hands on practical experience in major operating companies and in depth knowledge in Lifting equipment operation/maintenance/inspection/management systems with offshore lifting experience essential. Able to provide training/leadership on critical lifting operation and can set up new systems for improvement.
