JOB TITLE: Engineer III - Commissioning 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Understand requirements and scope of work, project specifications, drawings, and other documents to establish applicability to the scope of work.
  • Stay technically updated through the study of related technical literature, including procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to perform various activities related to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up under supervision.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and application of various instruments and equipment calibration requirements.
  • Be continually present in the field to guarantee the quality and progress of the work.
  • Ability to perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and toolbox talks while executing activities.
  • Ability to complete reports and check sheets, receive client supervisor approval/signature, and submit to the turnover team for uploading into CMS.
  • Be aware of project-specific procedures, Preservation & Maintenance check sheets, matrices, and schedules.
  • Attend daily meetings with the Commissioning Coordinator and team leaders to update progress and receive daily reports.
  • Regularly contact discipline engineers and supervisors to solve problems related to safe project execution.
  • Ability to lead a team of supervisors and technicians to execute the work.
  • Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Process:
  • Ability to gather information on design failures and/or discrepancies.
  • Assist in performing various activities related to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of process systems, such as chemical cleaning, leak testing, catalyst loading, steam blowing, package unit start-up and operation, inerting, plant start-up operation, and stabilization.
  • Ability to inspect all systems for operational readiness.
  • Assist in the preparation of plans and specific method statements, including P&ID markups, for activities related to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of process systems.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering.


  • Strong understanding of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up processes for process systems.


  • Knowledge of process equipment operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance requirements.


  • Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
