Job Description

As an Engine Overhaul Engineer II at EEMC, you will supervise and mentor Engineers, Senior Technicians, Technicians and Mechanics to carry out Assembly, Disassembly, Cleaning, Inspection, Repairs, refurbishment, modifications, testing and rectification on all types of aircraft engines, engine systems, engine components to a high standard at the EEMC / EOW, to hold approval to certify own tasks as well as those directly under the job holders supervision, to certify and release to service work carried out in accordance with Airworthiness requirements and the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendation. 
In this role, you will:


  • Ensure all allocated tasks given by Engineer / Line Manager are completed as per the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) data and EEMC / EOW documentation and procedures.
  • Supervises the activities and work of direct reports by providing mentoring and guidance to ensure that work with is carried out efficiently in line with the individual's targets, assist with providing feedback to direct reports when targets or goals are not being achieved and work with the individual to improve performance.
  • Complete own and supervised tasks accurately by utilising knowledge of the engine overhaul process, company procedures as well as the use of the ESM, IPC, CMM, SB's and AD's ensuring paperwork and MRO ERP system tasks are completed progressively and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of tooling and equipment and facility to carry out the tasks in a safe manner to the highest of quality standards. Supervise direct reports to ensure compliance to safety and quality procedures.
  • Participate and promote a safe working environment in alignment with EEMC / EOW Safety policy. Ensure reporting any non-conformance in safety and quality immediately via company procedures. Act to mitigate any observed unsafe condition and prevent any incident, ensure all 'near-miss' situations are reported via company procedures and highlighted to Line manager or Operations Manager.
  • Ensure own attendance and direct reports are in alignment with sectional shift pattern, monitor direct reports attendance and initiate step in accordance with the company Capability and Disciplinary regulations. If required, lead daily tool box meetings, actively participate in all others meetings as required, suggest, coordinate and lead projects that contribute to improvements to process, increased efficiency or better practice.
  • Train direct reporting technicians to develop competencies, skills and ability to successfully gain self-certification approval, train and prepare Senior Technicians to successfully gain Inspectors approval, mentor technicians and mechanics and identify areas of improvement to achieve the desired skill level. Provide assistance and guidance to Technicians with application for approvals focusing on a detailed regulatory and compliance comprehension.
  • To oversee efficient manpower management using the 145 roster or relevant roster for daily, weekly and monthly tasks. Without compromising any human variables, maintain over time within the budgeted hours.
  • Ensure to effectively set staff annual business contribution evaluation. goals and competencies through conducting quarterly and annual performance reviews.
