Job Description
Project Management and Supervision:
- Supervise, plan, and coordinate electrical work on assigned projects, ensuring tasks are completed according to schedule and budget.
- Conduct regular site inspections to confirm compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
- Identify and address potential issues to minimize delays and ensure smooth project flow.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of electricians, apprentices, and assistants.
- Assign daily tasks, provide technical guidance, and support team members in troubleshooting complex electrical problems.
- Ensure a productive and positive work environment that promotes adherence to safety and quality standards.
Quality Control:
- Conduct quality checks on completed electrical installations to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and address any issues in workmanship, materials, or practices that could impact project quality or safety.
Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on the job site to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and on-site inspections to identify and address hazards.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, including electrical and building regulations.
Resource Management:
- Coordinate ordering and management of materials, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient resource use.
- Maintain inventory control, and ensure tools and materials are used properly and stored safely.
- Track resource usage and suggest cost-saving measures.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, labour hours, and incidents.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, team performance, and any issues encountered.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with other trade supervisors, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless coordination.
- Communicate project status and issues to the Project Manager and resolve conflicts as they arise.
Requirements- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical work is preferred.
- Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Certifications: Valid electrician’s license; additional certifications in safety, project management, or electrical systems are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
