About the job ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team for an Engineering Consultancy role with a focus on FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and Detailed Design projects for an EPC Contractor. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly with ADNOC projects, and possess a thorough understanding of electrical systems design, engineering standards, and project delivery processes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the electrical design scope for FEED and Detailed Design stages of projects in compliance with client specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform electrical system design calculations, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, grounding, and lighting design.
- Develop and review electrical drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Ensure all electrical systems are designed to meet the required safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Provide technical input during the preparation of project proposals and cost estimation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Civil, Mechanical, etc.) to ensure all aspects of the design meet project requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure that all electrical work complies with international standards and ADNOCs specific requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to support the timely and successful delivery of electrical components.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client (ADNOC) and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support technical discussions with ADNOC, addressing any electrical-related queries or challenges.
- Ensure timely responses to all client requests for design clarifications, modifications, or adjustments.
- Ensure that all electrical designs comply with relevant local, national, and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC).
- Adhere to ADNOC's engineering guidelines and quality assurance processes, ensuring the highest standards of safety and reliability in electrical systems.
- Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP/HAZID studies as required.
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers and assist in their professional development.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of other electrical engineers and design teams.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on FEED and Detailed Design for large-scale EPC projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Proven experience working on ADNOC projects, with a deep understanding of ADNOC's standards, procedures, and project expectations.
- Experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly within the UAE, is highly preferred.
- Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, ADNOC-specific standards).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems such as HV/MV/LV power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), instrumentation, and control systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Professional certification (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer, etc.) is a plus.
- ADNOC-approved certifications or familiarity with ADNOCs standards is preferred.
