EGEP Field Operations & Commissioning Engineer (30/08/2024) 

We are looking for an EGEP Field Operations & Commissioning Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:  

Start Date: ASAP

Location: UAE with mission to Basra and Italy.

Duration: 12 months- Renewable

Qualifications/Experience required

• Professional Experience: >20 years in Oil and Gas projects
• Experience in similar position: At least 3 years of experience in similar position during project, relevant site experience in an onshore field and 10 years as Commissioning Manager is required. Experience as Production Manager, Site Manager or equivalent is also required to meet the Filed Operation aspects of this position.
• Level / Diploma: Engineer
• Languages: English mandatory
• The position will be based in Contractor office for 6 month (Italy) and in Basra (Iraq) on resident basis for the installation period and the start-up (1 to 1,5 year).

Goals

EGE Project main objectives are to:

• Valorise associated HP gas from CPF1 production (120 Kbopd) for 2 years and reduce flaring. The gas volume to be treated will be 50MMscfd.
• Valorise 50MMscfd of gas coming from other fields (Majnoon and/or WQ2), to support the Government to reduce flaring levels in the south of Iraq, for another few years, while making the activity profitable.

The development project will be designed via a DBOOM (Design, Build, Own, Operate and Maintain) contract, including Detailed Engineering, Construction/Commissioning and Operation phases. There will be some other part of the work out of the DBOOM contract (early works, 5 pipelines...) treated in interfaces with other projects (AGUP phase1, AGUP Phase2, GMP). overall project’s budget is around 300 MUSD.

This position will have different roles:

• During Engineering Studies (6 to 8 month): Operations role ensuring all Field Operations inputs and Commissioning are incorporated (Residential at Contractor offices – Italy)
• During Construction Phase: Act as Commissioning Site Leader (Rotational at Company Site)

Activities

• To adopt & demonstrate an exemplary behaviour about HSSE requirements.
• To coordinate activities required with affiliate Field Operations entity, based on Project needs.
• To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour about the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy, and to promote and enforce the Corporate Anti-Corruption Program within the project team.
• Engineering follow-up: To control and monitor Contractors’ performance for the subject relative to Field Operations (but not limited to), by ensuring timely delivery and review of Contractor’s engineering documents, studies, and queries through an efficient technical coordination scheme with the Contractors.
• Pre-commissioning, commissioning and Start Up: Monitor and support Commissioning activities with Contractor.
• To identify and deliver all studies and documents (dossiers) related to Field Operations.
• To prepare and launch contract with affiliate if required (i.e MIEC)
• To ensure that latest digital and carbon footprint reduction initiatives are studied and implemented if possible
• To prepare and ensure a clear and efficient hand over to the Authorities at the end of the operation phase.
