The Dubai office has over 50 bankers, being the largest and most active independent financial advisory practice in the Middle East covering M&A, equity, debt and restructuring.


The Debt Advisory and Restructuring team comprises 11 specialists and advises on the full spectrum of corporate, leveraged, infrastructure and real estate situations – new issuances, capital structure optimisation, and restructuring. We advise on an unrivalled volume of transactions in our core markets, greater than any single financing counterparty. This scale and expertise give us unique access to the performance and strategy of the full spectrum of capital providers.

Overview of Role


An informed and impartial perspective to help our clients reach their goals through the design and execution of financing and restructuring solutions.


We provide impartial, expert advice to large and mid-sized corporations, sovereign wealth funds, private equity, families and entrepreneurs, and governments. We design and execute financing and restructuring solutions for our clients and act as a trusted partner, taking a long-term and independent view on the challenges they face.


Our deep understanding of financial markets, the high volume of transactions we advise on, and our unrivalled network of industry and financing specialists in 40 countries, provide clients with a comprehensive perspective to achieve their strategic goals. Our distinct perspective allows us to achieve outstanding results for our clients and act as their most trusted advisers over the long term.


Responsibilities


  • Work on multiple transactions and with multiple project teams simultaneously on all critical aspects of transactions, including client development and initial opportunity evaluation,  reviewing term sheets, legal implementation, debt documents, defining supporting analysis, and transaction strategy and execution;
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial analyses and financial models required for evaluating and completing such transactions, as well as client presentations, information memoranda and offering documents;
  • Researching relevant industries to support the wider team's marketing initiatives, optimising various sources of information; and
  • Supporting the team to coordinate each transaction process both internally and with other advisors.

Education and Qualifications


  • Degree or equivalent: 2:1 or above
  • ACA (or equivalent) qualified is a distinct advantage, but not essential

Experience, Skills and Competencies Required


  • 3+ years experience in restructuring, debt advisory or investment banking role
  • Genuine interest in corporate finance with a particular focus on debt advisory and/or restructuring space in the MENA region
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills to develop financial models with a deep understanding of financial statement analysis
  • Ability to coach and mentor analysts and interns is essential
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple project deliverables simultaneously
  • Ability to build effective relationships internally between individuals, teams and lines of business, across different geographies
  • Knowledge of various debt instruments
  • An exceptional strong work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
