JOB TITLE:DRILLING ENGINEER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Drilling Engineer will be responsible for carrying out assigned work with particular emphasis on HSEQ performance and cost-effective delivery.
·Accountable for performing all duties with due regard to the health, and safety of self, others and of the environment in which they are undertaken.
·Accountable for compliance with PETROFAC well management system processes, standards & procedures, relevant Client processes & procedures, and legislative requirements.
·Liaise with Client Production and Subsurface teams and service companies to ensure that objectives for well construction, well intervention and/or well repair are set and fully detailed in the procedures for each well.
·Support the project team in submission for and the implementation of and adherence to Petrofac and clients project-specific HSEQ and legislative requirements.
·Preparation of statutory notifications to the government and other parties.
·Responsible for the composition of all studies, programmes and programme amendments for the construction, re-entry, and repair of a well including contingency planning.
·Responsible for peer review and communication of assigned work scope to relevant parties as per WEMS.
·Determine the specification and manage the well design-specific procurement of equipment and services In line with Client and Petrofac guidelines including the generation of Call off’s.
·Complete modeling and design to develop a fit-for-purpose casing design in line with applicable standards.
·Coordinate and monitor well construction performance & comparison with offsets.
·Provide technical analysis and potential solutions for well challenges.
·Liaison with rig and service contractors in planning and operations processes.
·Daily office-based well operations support and site visits as required.
·Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and AFEs for planning and well construction/intervention/repair in line with Petrofac policies and client requirements.
·Liaison with all other required disciplines, such as production team and completions.
·Participate in the inputting and tracking of all project actions and key legislation in Turus®
·Participate in inputting all lessons for approval in Turus®
·Complete risk reviews and document same as required by the project utilising Turus®
·Collaborate in client project meetings and weekly reporting requirements.
·Compile end-of-well reporting by all relevant service companies and Petrofac.
·If requested, support out-of-hours emergency response and operational support.
·Provide stand-in cover for Senior Drilling Engineer.
·Support technical approval of all relevant invoices related to the drilling engineering work scope.
·Supporting unplanned events management & preparation of response strategy.
·Identifying, evaluating & proposing appropriate new technologies.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
·Degree qualified in an engineering discipline
·Valid IWCF certificate L4 or equivalent
