Doctor - Engineering (Fixed Term Contract)

As Doctor, for our Engineering facility, you will provide the highest standard of evidence-based medical care for Company staff and their dependents, within the quality and accreditation standards to meet General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulatory requirements, whilst remaining within strict budgetary controls.

This role is a fixed-term contract opportunity. 

In this role, you will:

• Provide appropriate preventive and curative health care and health education for Company staff and their dependants, as per eligibility. This includes routine and urgent medical care, as rostered by the department, to ensure patients optimal health care.
• Document all medical care and advice given within the approved electronic medical record and in line with best practice governance standards for Medical Records
• Deliver quality assured, value driven care in line with local and international best practice standards and available resources. This includes but is not limited to prescribing, laboratory, radiology and external specialist referrals.
• Diagnose and treat minor injuries, walking wounded. Manage chronic diseases such as Diabetes and High blood pressure in the context of fitness and safety to perform high risk activities such as driving large vehicles, working at heights or in confined spaces
• Liaise with physiotherapy to rehabilitate employees with musculoskeletal conditions back to manual duties .  
• Act as first responder / support nursing staff when dealing with minor to moderate emergencies or liaise with the ambulance service to stabilise and transfer more serious cases. 
• Support the continued accreditation of Emirates Medical Services with the chosen external accreditation body through continued evidence of best practice and strong standards of governance and care delivery.
• Conduct medical assessments and monitor the health of employees as per Company policy, applying good practice principles to determine fitness for work. This includes but is not limited to, pre-employment and periodic / referral medical assessments.
• Facilitate access for patients to specialised medical treatment from an approved list of providers, including specialists and / or hospitals, to ensure continuity and optimal care is provided at all times.
• Participate in specific medical education programmes as required, including to meet operational and service needs, and / or for developmental purposes..
• Maintain all licences required to meet the regulatory requirements of the DHA  to operate as a licenced Doctor .This includes but is not limited to meeting stipulated continuing medical education (CME) requirements.
