About the Job: 


An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Recreation to join Madinat Jumeirah Resort. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:


  • Develop and implement strategic plans for recreational programs and facilities in alignment with organizational goals and guest expectations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to recreation staff, ensuring effective teamwork, training, and development to deliver high-quality guest experiences.
  • Create and oversee a diverse range of recreational activities and events catering to various guest demographics and preferences.
  • Manage recreational facilities, including maintenance, cleanliness, safety protocols, and accessibility to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Enhance guest engagement through innovative recreational offerings, personalized experiences, and continuous improvement based on feedback.
  • Develop and manage the recreation budget, monitor expenses, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial goals and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, health, and safety standards applicable to recreational facilities and activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote recreational programs and events, increase participation, and enhance brand visibility.
  • Build relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and external partners to support recreational initiatives and enhance the organization's reputation.
  • Prepare reports on recreational activities, attendance, financial performance, and guest satisfaction metrics, providing insights for strategic decision-making.

About You:


 The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:


  • Software competencies – Microsoft Office programs (Advanced)
  • Problem solving
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Creative
  • Project Management Skills 
  • Detail orientated 
  • 10 years of experience in a similar management position in the luxury industry 
  • A bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Hospitality Management, Sports Administration, or a related field
  • A master’s degree in Recreation Management, Hospitality Management, Sports Administration, or a related field.
