About the Job:


An opportunity has arisen for a Director – Park Operations at Dubai Holding Entertainment. We are looking for a visionary and strategic leader to join us. In this role, you Lead and manage core operations and orchestrate various departments to achieve business unit objectives, align with corporate guidelines, and deliver exceptional guest experience while meeting operational excellence and commercial goals. Direct departmental oversight is included but not limited to: Food & Beverage, Operations / Aquatics, Facilities / Maintenance, Retail, Seatrek & Admissions.


Key role responsibilities: 


  • Collaborate with the General Manager to execute a revenue strategy that aligns with Group Operations' objectives and represents guest demographics, feedback, and the competitive set to recommend operational changes for increased occupancy and profitability.
  • Lead core operational departments and activities by conducting frequent and thorough inspections of all operational areas, to ensure that the waterpark maintains high standards of cleanliness and upkeep, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests, maintaining facilities, and landscaping, and the overall aesthetic appeal of the park.
  • Lead direct reports’ performance, recruitment, and development, and raise overall awareness and commitment towards the vision, mission and hallmarks of the Group to ensure high levels of employee engagement and loyalty.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that staffing levels are always maintained to meet the operational needs of the waterpark, including balancing seasonal variations in attendance, and ensuring that there are enough staff members to meet the park's requirements during peak times.
  • Foster a positive and motivated work culture among employees by providing leadership, setting the plan and objectives, clear communication, and opportunities for professional growth and development to build a cohesive team that contributes to the park's overall success.
  • Take proactive steps to improve the overall guest experience by implementing a range of strategic initiatives, enhanced services, new attractions, and improving the overall ambiance of the park.
  • Actively monitor and analyze guest feedback, including comments and complaints, to gain insights into areas where improvements are needed, services to be enhanced, issues resolved, and visitor satisfaction maximized.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner to provide exceptional customer service, this will involve effective communication, problem-solving, and ensuring that guest issues are resolved to their satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage the operating budget, overseeing all financial aspects of the park's operation, monitor revenue in an ongoing manner and make necessary adjustments to maintain profitability, closely analyzing financial data and identifying areas where costs can be controlled, or revenue can be increased.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors who provide equipment, supplies, and concessions to the waterpark, including negotiation of contracts, evaluation of performance, and the establishment of long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Ensure that products and services provided by vendors meet the required quality standards and cost-effectiveness, including monitoring the quality and safety of materials, equipment, and food items supplied to the park.
  • Identify areas for operational enhancement by conducting regular assessments of park operations and guest feedback, including operational efficiency, safety measures, guest experience improvements, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure that all operations of the waterpark strictly adhere to all safety regulations and compliances to create a secure environment for guests and employees, as well as meeting environmental standards, which might include responsible water management, waste disposal, and conservation initiatives to reduce the park's environmental impact.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Management Team

About you: 


The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business or equivalent from an accredited University.
  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in the waterpark or broader leisure and hospitality industry is essential.
  • Prior experience in leadership and management roles is crucial. You should have a proven track record of effectively leading and supervising teams in a complex operational environment.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the waterpark industry is essential to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Proven ability to optimize operational processes and drive efficiency while maintaining high-quality service.
  • Prior experience in identifying opportunities for expansion, improvements, and innovative strategies to drive business growth. 
  • Experience in building strong relationships with stakeholders, such as property owners or investors, to ensure alignment with corporate guidelines and brand promise.
