As a Director of Research & Development you are responsible to provide market research and due diligence support for the Research and Development Department. You are responsible to assist in the expansion Rotana’s brands by supporting the Development Team in sourcing, negotiating and signing of additional hotels in new and existing markets which align with Rotana’s core strategy. Furthermore your role will include key responsibilities such as:
• Conduct market research and compile market intelligence for regions of interest according to the development strategy
• Maintain information on current market trends and hotel performance within specific markets, regions and destinations, as well as on expansion of competitor hotel chains within specific markets, regions and destinations
• Assist in compiling, updating and prioritizing a list of target markets for development and monitor relevant industry trends
• Participate in implementing the strategic business plan to grow the company’s presence in target markets
• Assist in evaluating new hotel projects and conduct preliminary review of the market, potential performance, competitors and other relevant information
• Assist in the negotiation of commercial and legal terms of new hotels and in the drafting of management and other related documents
• Assist in preparing analysis and presentations for various committees related to the development department, as well as the necessary documents for the development committee
• Provide direct support in relation to special projects within the development department
• Prepare regular reports and analysis on the departments’ performance (monthly/quarterly reports, status reports etc.) and update material, presentations and documentation for the department as required
• Collaborate with other departments like legal, finance, technical for effective completion of tasks and establish and maintain a strong network of contacts with industry players including support industries such as consultants, financiers, developers, tourism authorities, etc.
• Attend relevant hospitality events and maintain a high profile within the industry in the region
