Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the preparation of tender documents for Construction, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), ID (Interior Design), and other project packages, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project specifications.
- Oversee the tender submission process, including managing timelines, compliance checks, and ensuring all documents are submitted on time.
- Prepare and issue tender invitations to a wide range of potential contractors and suppliers, ensuring that at least 3-4 qualified bidders are invited for each package.
- Evaluate contractor and supplier bids in terms of cost, quality, timeline, and technical compliance, ensuring the best value for the company.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the bidding process, answering queries and clarifying any uncertainties raised by contractors.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as the Project Management, ID, and Technical teams, to ensure all tender requirements are met and that bids align with project objectives.
- Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for new projects, ensuring that all costs (materials, labor, equipment, etc.) are accurately captured.
- Prepare detailed bill of quantities (BoQ) and cost breakdowns for all tender packages, ensuring alignment with project scope and budget.
- Assess and control project costs throughout the tendering process, identifying areas of potential cost savings and making recommendations for alternative solutions or materials.
- Monitor and update cost databases, ensuring that all estimates are based on the most current and accurate information available.
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure that material and labor costs are accurately reflected in the project budget and tender proposals.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, PMP) is preferred.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in tendering, cost estimation, or procurement in the construction/real estate industry, with at least 5+ years in a managerial role.
Note : This role will be will be based in Dubai, managing projects in Dubai and Iraq. There would be frequent travel to Iraq as per the business requirement.
