Job Summary


Director, Commercial is to ensure that they meet the Project objectives by assisting the Vice President, Project Management and Design in establishing delivery and procurement strategies, contracts, securing materials, equipment and related services on time and within budget, in an ethical manner at all times, in accordance with procedures. Overall role will be to work on existing resorts capex across the globe and in various commercial functions in the Business Development on new resorts.


Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Range from conceptual cost planning through to final accounting.
  • Projects range in size from resort capital expenditure programme (renovations and restaurant refurbishments, through to conceptual estimating and commercial management of new resorts.
  • Align management style, working practices and conduct with Kerzner’s vision, corporate values, operating standards and policies.  To comply with Kerzner International’s code of conduct at all times.
  • Assist with ensuring that Policies and Procedures are in place and operating, or that appropriate deviations are requested from the Vice President, Procurement and Supply Chain; report known deviations of Hotel Policies and Procedures to the Vice President, Project Management and Design and take action to address them.
  • In conjunction with the Vice President of Project Management and Design build clear and open lines of communication with all departments.
  • Prepare budget estimates including value engineering where required to meet Capex expectations.
  • Assist the Vice President of Project Management and Design with cost control, its procedural management and reporting.
  • Assisting in the preparation of obtaining RFP’s from Contractor’s, Suppliers and Consultants and ensuing that these are full and complete for the purposes of tendering.
  • Be responsible for accounts payable, contractor interim payments, cash flow management and projections.
  • Reporting and managing all expenditures against construction progress.
  • Responsible for the timely preparation of contracts and ensuring compliance with Policies and Procedures, interfacing with all applicable Corporate departments.
  • Overseeing the project scope procurement.
  • Contractor commercial management.
  • Assisting with the preparation of other Development budgets.
  • Any other responsibilities as directed by V.P. Project Management and Design


Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements


  • Minimum 7 – 10  years’ experience solid experience - Commercial construction background.
  • Young dynamic individual
  • UAE / international experience required.
  • Preference will be given to those with hospitality experience.
  • Possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Have a strong attention to detail and quality of works.
  • Able to work under pressure and towards deadlines, be able to work as part of a team, and be a self-motivated and approachable and friendly person.
