Job Description
- Prepare engineering drawings, details, sections, charts and similar documents from rough sketches and specifications as directed and created by structural and /or outfitting engineers.
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by structural and /or outfitting engineers.
- Prepare detailed production design including 3D models.
- Produce production fabrication and installation drawings.
- Make simple professional computation by using tables, charts, etc.
- Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
- Prepare bill of materials, and weight calculations.
- Inspect on-board vessel or assemblies for preparation, verification or improvement.
- Should be competent in both manual drawing skills as wells as computer based application, such as automated computer assisted drafting (CAD).
- Thorough knowledge in both two dimensional and three dimensional techniques.
- Conceptualization skills to visualize finished drawings and assigned projects.
- Ability to generate complete discipline drawings with Engineer's supervision.
- Knowledge of geometry and architectural terminology is needed.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks within assigned project and to meet required deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental / project objectives.
- Trained and knowledgeable with relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
Education
Engineering Draughtsman Diploma / Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.
Training
Proficient with software such as AutoCAD 2013 or later version Cadmatic Hull and outfitting, Ship Constructor 2017.
Producing engineering drawings for ships and offshore structures.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Experience in power generation, distribution system & safety.
