Job Description
As a Design Manager, you should have worked as a Lead Architect, at the forefront of designing public and private buildings, homes, commercial sites, and industrial structures. Your role involves engaging with clients to discuss budgets, structural specifications, and contracts. You'll create detailed building plans that integrate systems for electricity, climate control, plumbing, ventilation, and communications. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to lead and mentor other architectural, engineering, and construction professionals.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the design team, fostering growth and creativity.
- Oversee design projects from the initial concept to the final completion, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
- Manage budgets and timelines, ensuring all designs are delivered efficiently.
- Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders and management, effectively communicating your vision.
- Guide the design deliverables process with a focus on compliance with applicable Codes & Standards.
- Set the direction and goals for the design team, promoting a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Lead a group of dedicated designers across various disciplines, providing strategic direction for each business segment.
- Ensure the design process runs smoothly, resulting in timely delivery of designs.
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance department productivity.
- Oversee the design project assignment process, ensuring a balanced workload.
- Direct a team of designers and modelers in using BIM tools for design production.
- Develop, implement, and manage the company's design strategy, leveraging your knowledge of design principles, construction, engineering, and building regulations.
Requirements- Minimum, Bachelors in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
- Master’s in architectural related subjects is preferable.
- Higher qualifications or certifications in project management or
leadership can prove advantageous.
- Proficient in design software such as Revit (basic knowledge), Adobe Creative
Suite, AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project and MS BI Pro.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating breadth and depth in successful
design projects is recommended.
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Architectural
Design on live projects.
