1. Attend meetings with nominated barge personnel to review the appropriate requirements of the lifting drawings and the related procedures to be followed. 2. Conduct and report on periodic inspections of the cranes including manufacturer maintenance recommendations to the Plant department. 3. Report any defects observed as per manufacturer’s instructions to Barge Foreman. 4. Ensure that the crane, cabin and engine room are kept clean and free of clutter. 5. Clearly display and update the load chart in the cabin to ensure it is visible to all during normal operating conditions of the derrick crane. 6. Ensure compliance with Company codes, HSE & offshore regulations and the barge’s operations manual.
Skills Required
• High school or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating cranes onboard offshore construction barges.
• Valid crane offshore competency certificate from Germanischer Lloyd (GL).
• Experience in installation of top sides and heavy lift cranes (800 tons & above).
• Experience in jacket installation utilising lifting, up ending and launching methods.
• Complete knowledge of all standard offshore safety training requirements.
• Good English language skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
