Job Purpose
Assists line manager to ensure that the Core Flying Phase of the MPL program is conducted in compliance with the regulatory, safety and training standards of the GCAA and T3 Aviation Academy. Assists in the supervision and monitoring of the flying training activity conducted at the contracted service provider, in each approved base.
Key Result Responsibilities
- Assists in the supervision and monitoring of all flight instructors (FIs) delivering instruction to the academy’s trainees, ensuring that all regulations and procedures are adhered to during training.
- Executes an annual standardization program for FIs to ensure the standardization of flight instructions.
- Assists in the maintenance and execution of a training plan for all new FIs appointed to train the academy’s trainees and confirm their suitability.
- Maintains a robust assessment process to ensure the quality of instructions can be maintained.
- Supervises the trainees’ performance and when necessary, remedial training as approved by the respective line manager.
- Stays up to date with the developments, trends, changes and advancements in regulations, and procedures in related fields.
- Recommends changes and improvements to the flight training syllabi as required.
- Maintains the trainees’ flight instruction records and initiates corrective actions when detected or as instructed by the respective line manager.
- Assists in ensuring that the optimum number of flight instructors is available based on the courses to be conducted and number of trainees enrolled, by liaising with the management of the contracted training provider.
- Maintains accurate records of FI qualifications and training as per T3 Aviation Academy OM-D and uploads the required documents into the flight training management software.
Key Result Responsibilities - Continued
- Documents staff and trainee recency and ensures compliance with current regulations.
- Maintains an up-to-date record of all FI’s flight and duty times and ensures limitations are not exceeded.
- Supervises compliance with flight and duty times limitations of flight instructors and trainees, ensuring that violations are reported and investigated.
- Reports any failure of the contracted training provider to comply with regulations or the relevant provisions of the academy operations and training manuals to the respective line manager.
- Identifies and reports any safety-related incident, regardless of the severity, to the appropriate manager.
- Performs any additional duties as directed by the line manager.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
- Minimum a CPL(A)/IR, 1000 hours as PIC, 500 hours SE; high school diploma; bachelor’s in aviation management or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 200 hours IFR, 500 hours as FI.
- A valid class one medical issued by the state of License issue, successfully completed an MPL instructor training course at a GCAA approved ATO.
Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, handling similar tasks, 2 years of which as a Flight Instructor.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations, procedures, and best practices for flight training.
- In-dept knowledge of safety procedures.
- Fluent in English (Urdu and other languages are an advantage).
- Knowledge of GCAA rules and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Conversant with FlightLogger FMS.
