DATA ARCHITECT

Position Overview:

The Data Architect is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the organization's data architecture, ensuring that data systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires fluency in Arabic and English, as the Data Architect will be working with stakeholders across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data modelling, database design, and data governance, with a strong understanding of regional data regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and design the organizations data architecture, including data models, database structures, and data integration frameworks that meet the needs of the business.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.
• Design and oversee data integration processes, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows, data migration, and real-time data streaming, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
• Work closely with business analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure that the data architecture supports analytical and operational needs.
• Manage and optimize databases, including SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
• Ensure that all data architecture and management practices comply with relevant data protection laws and regulations in the MENA region, including data localization requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for data architecture, including data models, database schemas, and integration processes.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineers, developers, and other IT staff, ensuring best practices in data management and architecture.
• Leverage knowledge of regional data practices, regulations, and business environments to design data solutions that are culturally and legally appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Masters degree or relevant certifications are preferred.

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, database management, and data governance.
• Experience working in or with organizations in the MENA region.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in data modelling, database design, and data integration tools.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with data governance frameworks and tools, including data cataloging and data quality management.
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and data lakes.
• Familiar with technology such Forcepoint or Symantec, Informatica, Teradata and etc

Language Skills:

Fluency in Arabic and English is required, with strong communication skills in both languages.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multicultural environment.
• Leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and guiding junior staff.

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
• TOGAF Certified
• AWS Certified Big Data Specialty
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
