DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all functions of CSSD. Collection of instruments with proper checking and integrity of equipment. Establishes and ensures the implementation of CSSD policies and procedures. Receiving the instrument properly and uses prescribed technique for disinfection and cleaning methods. Using proper P.P.E. (personal protective equipment) and follow infection control protocol lead by hospital policies in each area of the department Directs and supervises activities of CSSD assistants relating to the operations involved in CSSD. Performs duties as CSSD technician independently and work proficiently. Consistently uses recipes to correctly assemble, protect, wrap containerize and/or peel pouch and label instruments. Also, identifies the cleanliness and functionality. Properly handles sterile item supplies, equipment and instruments. Selection of proper sterilization method and required know and follow the principles of sterilization. Proper distribution of items to respective department. Maintain all decontamination records, updates the checklist and maintain all sterilization records to be updated. Assesses CSSD supply needs and establish a standard CSSD inventory level for supplies and function of instruments and equipment’s. Reporting shortage of material to the supervisor/ in charge at earliest convenience, maintaining records for ordering and replenishment Develop, coordinate and participate in routine educational program and staff meeting to facilitate professional growth and quality patient care. Monitors compliance with hospital policies and procedures Coordinates with PCI nurse. Promoting & maintaining qualities in all services & ensure continuous quality improvement measure are in place. Conduct method evaluation/ development as per standard policies & procedure. Maintaining strict confidence in relation to patient information whether formally or informally recorded. Participating in education session conducted for department staff and various hospital committee and staff meeting. Maintaining positive and effective working relationships within the departments/divisions and also within the other department facility Technician should understand/know the efforts, service, special skills and caring of instrument which ultimately effecting the early recovery and discharge of each patient. OSH ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible to be familiarize, comply and implement the OSHAD-SF& NMCSH Al Ain Internal OSHMS policies and procedures/SOP’s relevant to their department. Staff should notify/report all OSHMS hazards, incidents, accidents and near misses within the premises of NMCSH Al Ain to their supervisor or department OSH Facilitator as per the incident reporting protocol of NMCSH Al Ain. Staff are responsible to assist with the preparation of departmental risk assessment activities and implement the control measure within the timeframe. Staff are responsible to attend applicable department OSHMS training. Staff are not allowed to tamper or misuse any NMCSH Al Ain equipment’s and its property. Comply with all OSH instructions, safe working procedures and signages within the premises of NMCSH-Al Ain. Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedure. Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone's health and safety; Make proper use of all machinery, tools, substances, etc., safety systems and of all Personal Protective Equipment provided for use at work. Participate in required OSH inspection, audit and OSH monitoring programs.
