Contract Manager



Contract Manager You as a Contract Manager will be part of Hitachi Energy based in Dubai, Dubai Emirate, United Arab Emirates. You will support our Sales & Marketing and Project Execution within our Transformer Business Unit. You will be contributing to with analytical, hands-on and autonomous approach for the successful performance of Contract Management.

Your responsibilities:



Ensuring the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures. Reviewing and commenting on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions. Analyzes prime contract terms to highlight areas of potential opportunity and risk, such as ambiguities, omissions and conflicts, as work proceeds. Cooperate with legal to draft, negotiate and finalize agreements during the Sales and Project Execution phases. Support Sales in RR preparation and support in the contractual session working closely with local legal when involved and with the tendering team. Identifying the contract baseline (including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimate, proposal, schedule and other documents incorporated in the contract) and highlights areas of potential risk. Ensures timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects in portfolio of contracts (i.e. payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, provisions, guarantees, etc.). Verifies that both parties to the contract have fulfilled their contractual obligations and there are no responsibilities outstanding. Assesses success of the contract and determines if there are any lessons learned for future contracting. Documents and communicates to all appropriate parties any deficiencies found as part of the closeout process. Developing Contract Management competence with the other functions of the company by conducting pragmatic training periodically. Providing guidance and leadership on contract management-related matters to cross-department business team members, participate in claim negotiations and provide professional support where required regarding purchasing activities ensuring flow down of customer terms and conditions to the vendors. Your background



Bachelor’s degree in law. Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant field / Risk Management/ Contract Management/ Legal/ Commercial Role. Extensive experience in Contract Management functions and processes in project execution of EPC energy projects or similar industrial plants or manufacturing of complex industrial products Experience in working within internationally staffed teams and with international contractual partners preferred. Solid experience in contract negotiation, change management, claim management and contract-related legal issues and the possible effects in the relevant areas of responsibility regarding tendering stage and/or project execution Behavior and dealing with foreign cultures (Ethical Conduct) Systematic and structured work style Flexibility and adaptability according to specific requirements Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment, result oriented approach, proactivity and open mind A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in both spoken & written English.
