As a Consultant Medical Oncologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a diverse range of cancer types, providing personalized and compassionate care to patients. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including histories, symptoms, and physical examinations
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests, including imaging studies, laboratory tests, and biopsies
- Diagnose and stage cancer, determining appropriate treatment strategies based on evidence-based practices
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and supportive care
- Monitor patient progress and response to treatment, adjusting plans as necessary
- Manage side effects and complications related to cancer and its treatment, ensuring optimal patient comfort
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to promote coordinated care
- Engage in continuous education to stay informed about the latest advancements in oncology
