Job Description
- Coordinate installation drawings, participate with commissioning and handover, including defects identification, snagging and closure.
- Assess the existing team's performance and monitor contractor activities in depth.
- Explain and implement safety standards at the site by ensuring strict adherence to the same.
- Gauge the output and productivity of engineers, contractors, and associated professionals of an ongoing project.
Project Planning & Setup:
- Develop a detailed project plan, including schedules, budgets, and construction methods, ensuring everything aligns with the contract’s requirements.
- Work closely with you (the owner) to understand your vision and ensure all plans reflect the desired outcome.
- Ensure all necessary permits, licenses, and approvals are in place before construction begins.
Site Preparation & Mobilization:
- Organize and manage the preparation of the construction site, including land surveying, clearing, and installation of basic utilities.
- Set up necessary temporary structures (site office, storage areas) and ensure all safety protocols are in place before starting work.
- Ensure all materials and equipment are ordered and available on-site as required.
Resource Management:
- Plan and schedule the workforce, subcontractors, and machinery to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Coordinate the delivery and proper storage of materials to avoid damage or delays.
- Monitor daily operations and manage on-site workers and subcontractors, ensuring everyone understands their tasks.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure the site follows all health and safety regulations to minimize accidents and delays.
- Implement safety measures like proper signage, fencing, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers.
- Conduct regular safety checks and enforce corrective measures if any issues are identified.
Construction Management:
- Oversee all phases of the construction process, from initial foundation work to the final touches, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Monitor daily progress and report back to you on a regular basis, providing updates on any potential challenges.
- Ensure that the construction stays on schedule, avoiding unnecessary delays, and adjusting plans when needed to solve on-site problems.
Quality Control:
- Regularly inspect all work to ensure it complies with the project’s specifications and meets your standards.
- Address any construction defects immediately and ensure they are fixed to prevent issues later.
- Manage quality checks during every stage of construction, from foundation to finishing.
Cost Control & Reporting:
- Monitor all project expenses and manage the budget carefully, ensuring no unnecessary overspending.
- Provide you with regular updates on costs, highlighting potential savings or additional expenses.
- Approve purchases of materials and services in line with the project budget and goals.
Clear Communication & Updates:
- Serve as the main point of contact for you, providing daily or weekly updates on the project's progress, any delays, and key decisions.
- Ensure that all instructions from you are clearly understood by the team and subcontractors on-site.
Problem Solving & Decision Making:
- Quickly address any issues or unexpected challenges that arise on-site, using practical solutions to avoid major delays or cost increases.
- Keep you informed of any significant changes that might affect the timeline or budget.
Project Completion & Handover:
- Ensure that the site is fully cleaned and prepared for final inspection before project handover.
- Oversee any finishing touches or corrections needed to meet your expectations.
- Ensure all required documentation is provided for the completion of the project.
Post-Construction Follow-Up:
- Provide support after the project is completed, addressing any minor issues or follow-up tasks.
- Conduct a post-project evaluation to identify areas for improvement in future projects.
