Job Purpose:
The Commis Chef plays a vital role in supporting a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. This beginner-level position assists the Chef de Partie in various tasks, including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a sanitary and organized kitchen environment.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Chef de Partie with all aspects of food preparation, including chopping, and cooking basic dishes. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper inventory management. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and utensils after service. Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards to the Chef de Partie. Assist with plating and presentation of dishes. Learn and follow kitchen recipes and cooking techniques. Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment. Be willing to learn and take on new challenges.
