About Role
Our client is looking for a Kitchen Technician with experience in Maintaining, debugging, and fixing a range of commercial kitchen appliances to keep the workplace operating smoothly.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance on all refrigeration equipment, such as walk-in freezers and coolers.
- Recognize and fix problems with temperature control, compressors, leaks, and other refrigeration system failures.
- Fix and swap out malfunctioning parts for refrigeration systems.
- Keep cold rooms clean and hygienic while adhering to safety and health requirements.
- To reduce energy use, make sure cold rooms are operating efficiently.
- Ovens, fryers, grills, ranges, and other cooking appliances can all be installed, maintained, and repaired.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with culinary appliances, both gas and electric.
- Make sure temperature controls are operating correctly and calibrate thermostats.
- Continuously assess and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Fix leaks and keep up with copper piping systems that are connected to kitchen appliances.
- When new copper piping is required, install it for equipment.
- Make sure plumbing rules and regulations are followed.
- To avoid malfunctions, undertake preventative maintenance on all kitchen appliances.
- With the exception of important electrical systems, troubleshoot and fix minor electrical problems with kitchen equipment.
- Make sure the equipment is operating safely and effectively by replacing any broken parts.
- Uphold a tidy and well-organized workspace.
- Reduce downtime in the kitchen and react quickly to equipment emergencies.
Experience Required
- Diploma / Bachelors degree in engineering, or relevant technical field.
- 7 years minimum of experience as a kitchen technician or in a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of the upkeep, repair, and operation of refrigeration systems.
- Familiarity with refrigerated rooms and upholding hygienic standards.
- Understanding of the features and functions of various kitchen appliances.
- Ability to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Knowledge of copper plumbing systems for use in kitchens is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
