Job Description

·Guide and support HBM program scholars in addressing academic and personal challenges for overall well-being and success.


·Conduct regular check-ins to maintain academic standards, identify potential issues, and offer proactive support.


·Encourage active engagement in coaching sessions and prompt communication of concerns.


·Provide tailored assistance related to academic performance, coordinating additional support when necessary.


·Assist scholars in acclimating to their city of study, offering guidance on social environments and reliable resources.


·Offer comprehensive guidance and support to international students post-admission, addressing their academic, personal, and cultural integration needs.


·Provide information on academic policies, resources, and services available to students studying abroad.


·Facilitate cultural orientation programs and workshops to assist students in adapting to the new academic and social environment.


·Address cultural challenges and provide resources to enhance cross-cultural understanding and integration.


·Assist students in understanding academic requirements, course selection, and registration procedures, ensuring they stay on track toward their academic goals.


·Collaborate with academic departments to address student queries and concerns regarding coursework and program requirements.


·Offer guidance on personal welfare matters, including healthcare, housing, visa regulations, and other essential needs, ensuring students' well-being abroad.


·Act as a resource for students during times of crisis, offering support and guidance in challenging situations, and facilitating conflict resolution when necessary.


·Organize social and cultural events, fostering a sense of community among international students and advocating for their needs within the institution.


·Collaborate with student organizations and university departments to create opportunities for student involvement and leadership development.


·Benchmarking with Universities: Establishing a process for comparative analysis with other educational institutions.


·Managing Periodic Reports for the Department: Overseeing the creation and analysis of regular reports to ensure departmental efficiency.


·Managing Periodic Reports for KPIs: Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators to measure and improve organizational performance.


·Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in student advising, international student services, or related roles in higher education.


·Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Education, Counselling, International Relations, or a relevant field. Master's degree is a plus.


·Cross-Cultural Competence: Strong understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures, with the ability to support and engage with students from various backgrounds.


·Advising and Counselling: Demonstrated experience in academic advising, counselling, or mentoring students, preferably in an international setting.


·Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with students, faculty, and staff.


·Problem-solving: Proficiency in problem-solving and conflict resolution, with the ability to handle sensitive situations and provide effective solutions.


·Organizational Skills:


Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, prioritize student needs, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


·Crisis Management: Ability to remain calm and provide support during emergencies or challenging situations involving students
