• Clinical Support Assistant (CSA) works under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, usually a registered nurse, and assists with basic duties that are in line with the hospitals policies and procedures.
• Performs a range of duties as directed in accordance with the patient’s individuality, abilities, culture and choices. Such as:
• Washing and dressing patients
• Serving meals and helping to feed patients
• Helping patients mobilize
• Assisting patients to the bathroom /toileting
• Making beds
• Talking to patients and making them comfortable
• Practices in accordance with BIH values and moral principles and maintains confidentiality as appropriate.
• Assists the patient with general hygiene and helps maintain a safe, clean environment using infection control practices.
• Provides information and observations to assist the nursing staff.
• Operate basic equipment to obtain data and keeps them clean.
• Keeping departments clean and tidy.
• Organizes department stores, carriages and trolleys with consumables while keeping them clean and tidy.
• Transporting specimens to laboratory.
• Assists nurses in the discharge process (handing over paperwork to the pharmacy and admission office).
• Initiates emergency, safety practices and fire safety measures as necessary.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
