CIVIL INSPECTOR

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of Civil Inspector is to ensure that construction activities are executed in compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and local regulations. By leveraging their expertise, they act as a critical link between the design and construction phases, ensuring the successful delivery of projects while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct on-site inspections of civil works to ensure compliance with project specifications, design drawings, and applicable standards.
• Verify materials and construction methods against approved specifications.
• Monitor construction activities, including earthworks, concrete works, structural works, and finishing, to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, including photographic evidence, documenting site progress and issues identified.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project managers to address non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure that all site activities are carried out in accordance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Assist in reviewing and approving method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and material submittals.
• Participate in progress meetings to provide updates on inspection findings and quality issues.
• Verify and ensure proper implementation of design changes and variations on-site.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Civil Inspector, preferably in the UAE.
• Previous experience working with design consulting companies is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
• Familiarity with UAE regulations, local authority standards, and international codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with contractors and consultants.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant inspection software or tools is an advantage.
