The Purpose of the Role


The CDP engineer would initially train with experienced technology specialists following which the candidate would be part of the UOP FOS team where you will have the opportunity to work on-site around the world, collaborating with our customers to ensure the successful start-up, operation, and optimization of UOP technologies. The role entails extensive traveling at short notice around the globe.


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Major responsibilities/training would include:
  • Provide field technical assistance during refinery checkouts and startups, while coordinating commissioning activities and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Develop and design chemical manufacturing processes, applying principles of chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics to innovate solutions and enhance production efficiency.
  • Collect and analyze unit operating data and laboratory results to troubleshoot issues, adjust instruments, and monitor performance of manufacturing processes.
  • Review and advise on emergency and operational procedures, providing feedback for improvements on UOP process designs and leading initiatives for process enhancements.
  • Build effective relationships with customers, conducting unit audits and gathering production cost estimates to support the development of commercial refinery units.
You Must Have:
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Fluent English and Arabic communication skills
  • Flexibility to work hours dictated by customer requirements.
  • Ability to work in physically challenging environments with the willingness to commit to full-time travel for project durations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for global customer interaction.
  • Extensive traveling on short notice around the globe.
