About the Role:


An opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie to join the Culinary Department in Zabeel House The Greens. The main purpose of the role is to to oversee the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals in the assigned section and assist in the planning and managing of activities related to the kitchen including menu creation, management of kitchen staff.


  • The main duties and responsibilities of this role:      
  • Actively manages all aspects of the section and delegate tasks to the junior kitchen staff accordingly to ensure a smooth operations of that kitchen section to the expected quality standards of  Executive Sous Chef.
  • Manages service during busy periods and in the absence of senior chefs, manages the kitchen ensuring all standards and quality procedures are adhered to. 
  • Assists Jr. Sous Chef / Sous Chef in the development of new menu ideas to ensure all menus are seasonal and creative using the finest ingredients. 
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity so that Company provides world class and luxurious hospitality services to its guests.
  • Plans staff training with the Sous Chef and maintain an active training plan/programme for each team member. 
  • Supervises and check every dish sent from the section to ensure highest quality standards are maintained. 
  • As Chef De Partie and section in charge responsible for refrigeration cleaning, stock rotation, date coding and section deep cleaning.
  • In the absence of a senior chef ensure the daily kitchen records and labelling standards are being maintained at all times.

About You:


The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:


Essential:


  • Possess College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in responsible roles 
  • Very good command of speaking, reading, and writing English language. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert in hygiene, health and safety knowledge. 
  • Expert in product quality and presentation skills. 
  • Expert culinary knowledge of both classical and international culinary trends.
