We collaborate closely with suppliers, category managers, and cross-functional teams to provide the best selection, pricing, and promotions to our customers. About the Role
As a Category Executive, you will play a pivotal role in defining and managing the grocery selection by store, ensuring pricing and promotions align with customer needs and business objectives. This is a unique opportunity to work within the fast-growing Q-commerce industry and directly impact the lives of millions in the region.
 
What You'll Do
  • Assist the Category Manager in maintaining and executing category strategies that align with the overall department and business goals.
  • Manage product assortment by sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to offer a competitive range of items.
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns, ensuring alignment with Careem’s business objectives and supplier needs.
  • Partner with merchandising teams to ensure optimal visibility and performance of campaigns on the platform.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new products and stock availability.
  • Work with the pricing team to source competitive prices while maintaining category profitability.
  • Build and nurture relationships with suppliers through regular business reviews and strategic growth plans.
  • Ensure the accuracy and hygiene of product content and maintain its visibility on the app with the support of category assistants.
  • Identify and incorporate emerging consumer trends in online grocery and Q-commerce.
What You'll Need
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in the grocery industry, ideally in Buying, Category Management, or a related role.
  • Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers, FMCG partners, or brand owners to build strong partnerships.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in account management or business development is a plus.
  • A self-starter attitude with a commitment to excellence, customer centricity, and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with a hands-on, results-driven mindset.
  • Grit and determination to persevere through challenges and deliver exceptional results.
