Job Description
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Career Services & Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in analyzing, managing, and reporting on career services data whilst taking ownership of our in-house career’s platform, 12Twenty. This role involves developing and implementing data reporting systems, producing regular and ad-hoc reports, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making and institutional reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Masar Career Excellence:
- Collaborate with academic departments to identify employer contacts and internship opportunities as well as other potential collaborative ways of working together.
- Provide guidance to students regarding internship requirements, resume writing, interview preparation, and professional development.
- Identify and engage with potential employers to expand the range of internship opportunities available to students. Additionally, identify employers who are interested in partnering with us on co-op learning opportunities.
- Supporting the team to plan, organize, and implement career events in cooperation with industry trends.
- Demonstrating complete working knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and regulatory agency regulations and company policies at all times.
- Support the overall mission of Masar Career Excellence to support students and graduates in developing their employability and career readiness.
- Other duties as assigned by the direct manager.
Data Management and Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to student and alumni engagement, job placements, and other career services metrics – specifically taking ownership for reporting on the Careers Platform, 12Twenty, as well as relationship management with 12Twenty’s Account Manager.
- Develop and maintain data reporting and feedback systems to track and evaluate the effectiveness of career services programs and initiatives.
- Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations to communicate data insights regularly.
- Developing, planning, and implementing career policies and procedures.
- Support in maintaining accurate records of internships, placements, and employer interactions using appropriate databases or systems.
- To measure program effectiveness, generate reports on internship trends, student placements, and employer engagement.
- Analyze data and provide recommendations for improving internship programs and employer relations.
- We are conducting and analyzing students’ and employers’ surveys. To this, collaborate with the marketing team to design promotional materials and campaigns for career services initiatives.
Reporting:
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders, including senior management and academic departments.
- Assist in the preparation of institutional-related career services, including working with OIPE where appropriate.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reporting activities.
Strategic Insights:
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve career services programs and student outcomes.
- Manage, monitor, and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends to identify areas for improvement and growth and support the annual reporting cycle for Cognito Forms.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other members of the careers services team to support data needs and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with institutional departments and external partners to gather and integrate data.
Data Privacy and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and institutional policies in all data reporting activities.
- Implement and adhere to best practices for data security and confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with career development practices, internship programs, and employer recruitment strategies.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work
- Ability to work effectively with diverse constituents of Masar Career Excellence; i.e., students from diverse backgrounds, college administrators, faculty, and staff.
- Requires excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment, which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements. The position may entail work after duty hours, on weekends, holidays, and in emergencies (i.e. may be subject to “on-call” responsibilities).
