Role Purpose:
The Automobile Transport Supervisor is responsible for German Cars overseeing the transportation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, including managing mechanics, electricians, and diagnostic technicians. This role ensures the smooth and safe transportation of vehicles, while supervising the maintenance and repair activities to ensure all vehicles are in optimal condition before and after transport.
Required Skills:- The candidate should know how to use diagnostic tools (scanner).
- The ability to diagnose all minor and major issues on all kinds of vehicles (engine, transmission, suspension, etc).
- Must know how to work on all types of cars, including German, American and European cars.
- Candidate should have minimum 3 to 5 Years of Experience in UAE.
- High School diploma or the equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- General mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Transport Management:
- Supervise and coordinate all activities related to the safe loading, unloading, and transportation of vehicles to ensure minimal damage and timely delivery.
- Ensure proper inspection and documentation of vehicles before, during, and after transport, including noting any existing damage and assessing the condition of vehicles.
- Oversee vehicle scheduling, route planning, and coordination to optimize vehicle transport efficiency.
- Manage and supervise car carriers, transport trucks, and other equipment used for vehicle transportation, ensuring all vehicles are safely secured during transit.
Mechanics and Electrical Supervision:
- Supervise a team of mechanics responsible for performing repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance of vehicles.
- Ensure all mechanical systems such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and exhaust systems are functioning properly before vehicles are transported.
- Oversee electrical systems inspections and repairs, including battery maintenance, alternators, wiring, lighting systems, and diagnostic checks.
- Ensure that all vehicle systems, including both mechanical and electrical, meet safety standards before dispatch.
Diagnostic Oversight:
- Supervise the team responsible for vehicle computer diagnostics, ensuring the accurate identification and troubleshooting of engine control systems, transmission systems, ABS, airbags, and other computer-controlled vehicle systems.
- Use specialized diagnostic tools to assess vehicle issues related to electrical components, sensor malfunctions, or other computer-controlled failures.
- Oversee the installation or upgrading of electronic components and troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate equipment.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of diagnostic reports for all vehicles, with detailed descriptions of any repairs made.
Maintenance and Repair Management:
- Ensure that routine vehicle maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks, brake inspections, tire rotations, etc.) is carried out efficiently and on time for all vehicles in the fleet.
- Supervise major repair work on vehicles, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and suspension repairs.
- Oversee the replacement of worn-out parts (spark plugs, batteries, belts, filters, etc.) and manage inventory control of repair parts and tools.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and damage during vehicle transport, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all vehicles meet local regulations and safety standards for roadworthiness before departure.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards for the disposal of vehicle waste, fluids, and parts.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Lead and manage a team of mechanics, electricians, and diagnostic technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss operational goals, safety procedures, and any issues or challenges.
- Train team members on the latest automotive technologies and diagnostic equipment, ensuring they stay up to date with industry advancements.
Customer Communication and Documentation:
- Act as the point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication and resolving any concerns related to the transportation, maintenance, or repair of their vehicles.
- Provide cost estimates for repairs, maintenance, and transport services, ensuring transparency with customers.
- Maintain detailed records of all services performed, vehicle maintenance logs, transport schedules, and safety inspections.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
- Oversee the inventory management of automotive tools, parts, and diagnostic equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and timely replacement of items.
- Ensure that all vehicles are equipped with the necessary tools for minor repairs during transportation (if applicable).
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in automotive repair, vehicle transportation, or logistics.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in an automotive or vehicle transport environment.
- Extensive experience working with mechanical, electrical, and computer diagnostic systems in vehicles.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a certification in automotive technology or related fields is preferred.
- Certifications:
- ASE Certification or similar automotive repair certifications are preferred.
- Any relevant certifications related to vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems, or transport logistics.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic components.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple transport schedules, repair tasks, and inventory control.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to effectively manage repairs and vehicle inspections.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, team members, and management.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), kneel, bend, and work in tight spaces.
- Comfortable working in varying environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
