About the job Business Development Manager (Contract)

Our client is a government organization, a public joint stock company owned by the UAE Federal Government and its founders.


We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager for their team in Dubai. It is a 12-month contract.


The hired resource will be responsible to design and implement market penetration strategies to create and convert opportunities within target customer segments, ensuring the organization expands its customer portfolio and achieves growth targets.


Key Responsibilities:


1.Strategic


  • Contribute to the development of the corporate commercial and distribution strategy, ensuring alignment with the organizations overall strategy, business direction, and future goals.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify key client target segments across various business units.

2.Tactical


  • Analyze market trends and political landscapes to develop detailed business and market penetration plans in partnership with Business Unit Distribution Heads.
  • Execute established sales strategies and plans across business units, providing necessary support to drive sales growth.
  • Build and manage relationships with international brokers to generate additional business opportunities.
  • Support Business Unit Distribution Heads in implementing sales strategies to ensure sales targets are met across business units.
  • Identify existing clients for cross-selling opportunities to maximize sales revenue.
  • Recommend customer acquisition and retention strategies to Business Unit CRM Heads to identify and convert business development opportunities.
  • Assess challenges in selling products and services, proposing solutions to overcome them.
  • Generate new leads and convert them into policies to meet targets.
  • Achieve sales premium targets and ensure efficient use of the CRM system for record updates.
  • Assist the Business Unit Distribution and CRM teams in handling complex or critical business development opportunities to close deals successfully.
  • Develop robust market intelligence to streamline sales processes and provide relevant insights to underwriters and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze periodic sales reports, recommending actions to attract new customers and enhance business and premium income through new sales.
  • Regularly track and update the sales pipeline to provide senior management with clear visibility of opportunities and conversions.
  • Monitor sales performance against established plans, ensuring a balanced portfolio of products across business units.
  • Identify potential clients, attend industry workshops, events, and conferences, and schedule meetings to expand the client base.

3.People Management


  • Set goals and key performance indicators for direct reports, ensuring the effective application of the performance and development review process.

4.Product/Process Improvement


  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of processes within the Commercial and Distribution Department and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.

Qualification & Experience:


Bachelors Degree: Masters degree in business administration preferred.


5-8 years experience in the business development / sales function, preferably in the Export Credit Trade Credit Finance industry.
