Job Description
Context:
You will work to generate new business for Veolia. The role has a particular job responsibility on tender preparation in line with Veolia procedures and guidelines and must have excellent know-how to produce such tender documents. The role's purpose is to enhance the customer portfolio for key accounts by up-selling and cross-selling while making sure accounts are satisfied.
Job Description:
Main Accountabilities
- Accounts business development & upselling/cross-selling for Abu Dhabi-based key accounts.
- Generate and nurture new business opportunities through proactive market research, networking, and lead qualification in the environmental services sector
- Development of the OSS division in line with the business development strategy of Veolia.
- Contract renewals of key accounts assigned to the position.
- Preparation of EOI, RfP, Tender (technical & commercial) and pre-qualification processes as a core responsibility.
- Prepare presentations, technical & commercial offers and sales contracts (in coordination with the contracts director) for review and approval.
- Work on standard set business models to populate the client BoQs and present the financials for review to approval committees.
- Coordination with the UAE Business Development team to work on the commercial aspects of the tenders.
- Strong liaison with operations to ensure operations & HSE compliance during project development stages.
- Prequalification of VESE / VMER for new key accounts and maintaining the documentation in order to keep the registrations active.
- Responsible for independently targeting and developing high-value projects and presenting them to approval committees alongside the entity Business Development Manager.
- Periodic client interactions and meetings especially with Key accounts assigned.
- Maintain and leverage the CRM system (Salesforce) to track opportunities, monitor pipeline progress, and generate actionable insights.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across target industries and market segments
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs while maintaining profitable business growth.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to the Business Development and Sales Manager on pipeline progress, market insights, and strategic initiatives preferably using company CRM and analytical tools.
- This role reports directly to the Business Development and Sales Manager of Abu Dhabi and requires extensive experience in environmental services sales and business development.
QHSE
- Understand, implement, and follow the QHSE policy.
- Report any HSE incident immediately as per VESE HSE procedures.
- Implement and coordinate QHSE procedures onsite.

- Report all relevant information to the Contract Manager promptly and accurately.
- Ensure effective, accurate, and prompt communication with all other departments, clients, suppliers, and Veolia teams.
Qualifications
Education Level
- Hold a relevant educational qualification from a well-recognized and reputable academic institution fit for the required job function.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of business development experience in Abu Dhabi, preferably in waste management or related sectors in a well-reputed organization.
Technical Skills
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
- UAE valid light vehicle driving license is a must.
- Innovative and continuous improvement mindset.
- Effective problem identification, problem-solving and improvement implementation.
- Exemplary communication, Ability to think strategically, Ability to make effective decisions, plan and prioritize a substantial workload, analytical capabilities, multicultural communication skills and team integrity, and strong work ethic built on teamwork. This position preferably has a contract administration and negotiation background and is good at handling multiple clients.
- UAE Driving License is essential.
